Mimettes are small ghost type Pokemon that possess a penchant for inhabiting inanimate objects. While seemingly preferring old sock puppets, their mischievous nature leads them to switch vessels when enticed by other intriguing items. Their presence always alters the items they inhabit, giving them odd colours and features that are signature to the Mimette. When abandoned by Mimette however, these items lose these features.

When Mimettes inhabit a puppet, their spectral form takes on a crimson hue. One piercing yellow eye gleams from beneath the ragged fabric, transforming the puppet into a striking red visage. With one ear flopped over, a button replacing an eye, and several yellow patches holding the cloth together, the puppet becomes a whimsical - yet eerie - companion. The wispy outline of Mimette's form peeks out from beneath the doll, mysteriously keeping it aloft.

Despite their mischievous nature, Mimettes prove to be loyal companions, forming strong bonds with the humans they choose to accompany. An intriguing trait among Mimettes is their varying degrees of fear of abandonment. Researchers remain uncertain whether this fear is an innate characteristic of the Pokémon or stems from experiences in their enigmatic past lives. The mystery surrounding Mimettes deepens as their playful antics are juxtaposed with a heartfelt need for connection and stability with their chosen human partners.
