Andorin, situated as an island nation, comprises a main island and several smaller islands and islets, all surrounded by the azure waters of the Mistral Sea. It offers a picturesque and diverse landscape that consists of rolling hillsides laced by great rivers. In the interior of the main island, mountain ranges rise to majestic heights, shrouded in ancient forests and mist.

Andorin's foundation dates back 1500 years. It was shaped by waves of invaders and settlers, contributing to a diverse and robust cultural heritage.The nation once had a formidable overseas empire. With the support of a strong navy, Andorin expanded its influence across distant lands, amassing immense wealth and resources. This overseas presence left a lasting impact on Andorin's culture, language, and global relationships. Its empire gradually dissolved over the 20th century; this period of change led to an identity crisis as Andorin redefined its role on the global stage.

By the beginning of the 21st century, Andorin’s economy firmly dominated the service sector, notably in banking, media and distribution. With its financial institutions and media conglomerates it has become the cornerstone of Andorin's global economic dominance and success.

Alderley, the capital city of Andorin, is a dynamic metropolis at the heart of the nation. It's a bustling metropolitan centre where government decisions are made, economic activities thrive, and cultural diversity flourishes. Situated on the main island's coast, it combines historical charm with modern vibrancy. The city hosts various cultural festivals, museums, theatres, and art galleries, further solidifying its status as a vibrant cultural hub.

The royal family has held power for an impressive four centuries. Throughout this period, they have maintained substantial political authority and have remained beloved by their people. The Kingdom of Andorin is currently ruled by King William and Queen Alexandra. They have three children: Crown Princess Katherine, Prince Philip and Princess Mary. They come from a long line of ice affinities.

After the dissolve of the empire, Andorin suffered an identity crisis. Nowadays it has reached global success due to its service sector that is situated in the metropolitan capital Alderley. The monarchy's stability and their continued popularity reflect a unique blend of tradition, wise governance, and a deep connection with the nation's identity.

Described as angelic by many, Katherine is beautiful and captivating. She is a tall and slim woman with a pale-skinned complexion. She has long straight hair that falls far over her shoulders. The most unique aspect is its natural white-blonde colouring. Her eyes are strikingly red.

Katherine has an overall elegant attitude: a woman of wealth, power and beauty. She moves around gracefully and with a certain status, as she is royalty, and carries herself with great dignity. She’s often the life of the party and takes center stage without even realizing it herself.

Katherine’s style is hyper feminine and has an understated elegance. It can be defined as classic, preppy and timeless. She often wears ornate white blouses, soft comfortable sweaters and button up shirts that fashion as a dress. Her wardrobe also consists of many, many dresses and gowns. The colour scheme of her clothing is muted, consisting mostly of blacks, whites and neutrals, although she does love a good royal blue. She has a great love for accessories, ranging from vintage cashmere scarfs to pearl necklaces to hair ribbons.

Katherine has a very complex personality. She is a beloved yet tortured (Kath hates this last part) princess to outsiders, who goes on so strongly despite the cards that life dealt her. They have no clue of how much trouble the pressure of upholding her image currently gives her. She is a natural at putting on a mask of 'everything is fine', and making everyone believe it. You'll never know if the kindness she shows you is disingenuous, because you'll believe her defining character trait has survived all the trauma. Perhaps it did.
    
Due to her natural charisma, Katherine is extremely skilled in social interactions. She projects authority in a way that draws crowds together. While it used to be a pleasure for her to get to know others, nowadays it's more of a task. Not that you'll ever know that, though. She's far too intelligent to let any issue she has shimmer through. If there’s anything she loves, it’s a good challenge, a battle of wits. Sometimes her willpower can go too far, and Katherine is all too capable of trying to win every single debate. She may misinterpret contemplation as stupidity or disinterest. 

Growing up she continuously felt the pressure of being the perfect daughter and princess, which grew into a fear of making mistakes. After all, she was the heir, the next leader of her country. After her abduction, she found comfort in trying to uphold a perfect image (such healthy coping mechanisms). 

Katherine went through considerable changes in her character with the traumas and incidents she faced in her past. After her abduction she was no longer the same girl as before. She is extremely guarded about aspects of her life; her past is not a subject she wants to talk about. Katherine is distant from her own emotional expression and sometimes downright scornful of others. She now suffers from grave insomnia, often having nightmares or not being able to go to sleep at all.
