Something shifted around them, but Djodie couldn't just see what it was. They kept on walking, carefully following the narrow path, as it hit her. Flickering spores floated through the air around them, and by the time Djodie had connected the dots, she already felt drowsy and a little lightheaded. Shit. As quickly as possible at the moment, she turned around to glance at her pokémon, who also appeared a bit... off.

Without further thinking, she grabbed the balls from her purse and returned her pokémon. With the balls safely stacked away, she pulled up the scarf around her neck just a bit, to cover her nose and mouth. It might be a little late for that, but at least it would protect her from breathing in even more.
Was this a good idea, probably not, but her curiousity was piqued and the redhead was determined to see where this path would bring her.

You act quickly the moment you notice you’re getting drowsy, returning your pokemon to their pokeballs and pulling the scarf around your neck up so that it is covering your mouth and nose. You hope that it will be enough for you to keep the spores from affecting you as you decide to go forward.

you've rolled a 20 on a d20 for a constitution save. The DC was 15


As you step forward, the amount of spores becomes visibly more, but somehow it doesn’t seem to affect you anymore than it has already done and you find yourself following the path. The path takes a turn, leading straight for a tree. A pokemon is standing in front of it, clearly surprised that you are approaching it. It had expected you to have passed out by now.

The pokemon is still glowing, spores releasing from its body and when it doesn’t seem to have any effect on you it calls something and you find yourself surrounded by Morelull all trying to release their spores, but without success. What will you do? Their intention is clearly to make you fall unconscious and you don’t know how long you will be immune to their spores.

Perhaps it wasn't the brightest thing she could have done, but Djodie decided to press on, following the narrow path, which led her to a tree. A pokémon stood before it, clearly surprised to see her, still standing. Djodie didn't recognise the pokémon at once, but it looked like a large mushroom, which explained the spores in the air. But why had it released them? Did it think Djodie would be a threat to it?
The pokémon released even more spores, but called out to a group of Morelull when it noticed it didn't affect Djodie. But why?

The group of Morelull appeared, releasing more and more spores into the air. That it didn't affect her now, didn't mean it wouldn't do anything if she stayed. Djodie carefully took a step back, not having any interest to intervene with the pokémon standing before her. Walking backwards, she held her gaze towards the pokémon, wanting to make sure it wouldn't latch after her. When she was quite sure it wouldn't, Djodie turned around to attempt to find her way back.

It seems like the Shiinotic had been testing you, trying to distract you by using the Morelull to grab your attention away from the Volbeat and Illumise. These pokemon sap the energy of people and pokemon that come into their territory and it had been clear that they had been intending to do this to you. But the fact that you didn’t fall unconscious was not in their plan.

They watch you carefully as you take a step back, the Morelull seem to want to follow you, but the Shiinotic clearly holds them back, seemingly telling them to let you go, since you’re not as easy a target as they had expected at first. So they let you go as you make your way away from them quickly, back down the path you came. As you come back to the place where the Volbeat and Illumise were, you notice that they’re all gone, not even the Volbeat who had sought contact with you seems to be left.

With this your journey comes to an end. You have luckily been able to escape from the Shiinotic and Morelull before they could do anything to you or your pokemon, even after they had successfully distracted you from the Volbeat and Illumise. Though nothing happened and you’re safe to return home.
